Hamilton Island
Hamilton Island is the largest inhabited island of the Whitsunday Islands in Queensland, Australia. The island is a popular tourist destination as well as host to the annual Hamilton Island Race Week yachting festival. Hamilton Island has the most places to stay, restaurants and shops of all the Whitsunday Islands. Whereas many of the Whitsunday Islands only feature a single resort, Hamilton Island features many different resorts and hotels. Infrastructure is on the north side of island. To the south, the island is untouched natural vegetation.

Hervey Bay
Hervey Bay is located a comfortable three and a half hour drive or a 45 minute flight north of Brisbane, Queensland. It has a great sub-tropical climate, with maximum averages of 29 degrees Celsius in summer and 22 degrees Celcius in winter.

The lake itself is over four times the size of Sydney Harbour and is the largest coastal saltwater lake in Australia. Yeppoon is the major town along the tourist strip of the Capricorn Coast and 40 km from its nearest regional centre, the city of Rockhampton. Long stretches of beaches are the main tourist attraction, while the islands of the Keppel Group, in particular Great Keppel Island, are another drawcard. The Rosslyn Bay boat harbour caters for professional and privately owned vessels and was once the centre of a thriving commercial fishing industry.
North of the town is the Byfield State Forest and National Park. The State Forest consists largely of pine plantations and is home to the Byfield Fern (Bowenia Serrulata). The National Park is largely coastal and sand dune based geographical areas. It is popular with Four Wheel Drive enthusiasts.
