Hervey Bay is located a comfortable three and a half hour drive or a 45 minute flight north of Brisbane, Queensland. It has a great sub-tropical climate, with maximum averages of 29 degrees Celsius in summer and 22 degrees Celcius in winter.
Hervey Bay is well know for its natural assets including the Great Sandy Straits, World Heritage listed Fraser Island, the Bay and the Wetlands. It is also recognised as the Whale Watch Capital of the World, home to the majestic humpback whales from July to early November.
As one of Australia’s fastest growing cities, Hervey Bay is currently approaching 50,000 residents, with a predicted population of 90,000 residents by the year 2021 (predictions from the Australian Bureau of Statistics). The city boasts a network of parks, walkways, cycle ways, calm waters, and sandy beaches.
